CUSTOM DESIGNS
We are not your typical jewelry store. Most of our pieces are one-of-a-kind. We do a great deal of custom work. If you have an idea you would like made, a stone you would like set or found, wedding or commitment rings, or just an object-de-arte, we can make it happen.

We work using hand fabrication and the lost wax method. We use fine and sterling silver, gold 14-24 karat, and platinum.

All of our gemstones are from sources in compliance with the United Nations.

We guarantee that the diamonds are conflict free based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees. Please let us know if you would like a diamond of specific origin.

STEPS TO COMMISSIONING A CUSTOM PIECE

1. Make the appointment and answer the design questions.

2. Come in for the design consultation.
Bring the stone(s) and any items of inspiration for the design if you have them. We will discuss the design and work with you to develop a design that you are happy with.

Before we invest anything into the design we require a non-refundable design fee. The fee is based upon individual requests.

We can give you a rough estimate for the completed piece. Once a wax is done the price will be more exact. We will take $250 deposit for the wax. This is included in the total price of the piece. If you cancel the job during or after the wax process the wax deposit will not be refunded and the wax and design will remain the property of Ma Mo.

3. The second appointment is to view the wax model.
The wax is the same size as the finished piece. The wax allows you to adjust, alter or change the design. If you completely change the design previous estimates no longer apply. The wax method is a workable process. It is easier to make adjustments in the wax than metal. Once the wax model is approved we require ˝ down payment.

4. The finished piece will take approximately 2-3 weeks depending on complexity.

DESIGN QUESTIONS
Before you set an appointment answer the following questions:

1) What type of Jewelry do you want?
Pendant, ring, etc..

2) Do you have the stones or will we be supplying them?

3) What are you inspirations for the design?
Such as a photo, pattern, picture of a period piece or an item from antiquity. Please bring items to appointment.

4) What is your budget?

5) Do you have a time frame?
Custom design takes longer than anything else we do.
Please allow 4-8 weeks depending on the complexity of the design and if we have to find the gemstones. We understand that you may have a deadline, let us know up front. We are a two-person business. Please limit you inquires on the status of your piece. It removes us from our work and slows the progress of yours and everyone else’s jewelry.
