We began in 1996 in Hawaii selling an assortment of pearls in various sizes and colors.
One year later Ma Mo was formed.
Maurice is a second-generation jeweler. Trained in all aspects of fine jewelry manufacture, he is
also a GIA certified diamond grader.
Morgan is a trained designer. She has degrees in design, fine art, and is certified in diamond and
colored stone grading and identification. She is a skilled wax carver and designer. Her graphics
base helps transform ideas into technically precise designs. She can transform any idea or concept
into objects of art. All of her designs are sculptural, even the most ornate pieces.
The Black Ma Mo was an endemic species of bird native to the Hawaiian Islands. They belong to the
Honeycreeper family of which only a few exist today. The Black MaMo was captured for the use of the
few golden feathers from the bird’s wing, which were used to adorn the royal Hawaiian monarchs. We
have chosen the Black MaMo as our mascot as a tribute to our beginnings in Hawaii.
